"VIENS VOIR": inspiring initiatives
In the course of documentary research for the film "VIENS VOIR", the film team identified many inspiring initiatives. TEAM FILM #6 highlights its latest favorites.
Tomorrow's pharmacists and pharmacies
Florian Petitjean and Marion Bandel-Bardonnet share the same vision of tomorrow's pharmacy, a resolutely integrative dispensary at the crossroads of care. Both pharmacists, they are committed to a pharmacy that combines conventional medicine with other approaches to health (homeopathy, phytotherapy, aromatherapy, nutritional supplements, etc.). Florian founded Olismathe first brand committed to integrative health, created by pharmacists and doctors. And the brand's slogan says it all: "Health is Everything". Marion is manager of the Pharmacy Bandelnear Lyon. "A place where you feel good", as Florian likes to say. A sales and advice area designed to facilitate patient care, but not only that.

Pharmacy, the place for a new approach to healthcare
Florian Petitjean: " Between minor ailments and serious pathologies, there's a no-man's-land where patients often wander. This is an area where pharmacists have a vital role to play. Thanks to integrative healthcare, pharmacists can intensify their advisory role to prevent illness and chronic disease, by integrating non-drug interventions that are particularly useful for managing stress, fatigue and pain. I see the pharmacy of the future as a health hub, a local crossroads, where pharmacists and their teams go far beyond dispensing, drawing on new missions. This is an extension of what is already being done in Canada with "clinical pharmacy".
I see tomorrow's pharmacy as a health hub
Integrative health resituates the pharmacist in his local ecosystem, as a primary care professional who supports patients before and during illness. The pharmacist's vocation is to reappropriate everything that gives meaning to his or her profession, and integrative healthcare is part of this. This benevolent attitude towards the patient and between professionals is motivating for the whole pharmacy team and will, I'm sure, increase students' interest in the profession".
Pharmacie Bandel: a mission, a network, personalized and individualized support, and much more...
Marion Bandel-Bardonnet: " We thought of our pharmacy as a sort of "Nature & Découverte®", nur objective was to communicate naturalness and raw materials (wood, stone, metal) in a soft, warm and luminous atmosphere. Colors and scents were designed to create a feeling of well-being. We even have a tree in the middle of our pharmacy. Patients don't have to wait in line; we've been "piloting" a new waiting system with "electronic tickets" that leave patients free to wander, rest or shop without wasting time and, above all, without fear of losing their place.
We thought of our pharmacy as a kind of "Nature & Découverte®".
Our patients can discover the different areas, such as the "Espace Pluri'Elles" for the care of patients with breast or gynecological cancers, with its hairdressing salon. There are also orthopedic, medical equipment and therapeutic and nutritional maintenance rooms.
This evolutionary pharmacy has been designed to be adaptable, versatile and attractive. Patients can obtain information, advice and support. This is the case for homeopathic support in oncology. "The idea is to be able to meet the needs of all our patients, on a case-by-case basis. Some of them may feel alone and helpless in the face of their illness, and our mission is to help them in their care by offering them appropriate products and services.
We organize free workshops oe offer supportive treatments such as scar massages, scarf-tying lessons, mini facials, aromatherapy, reflexology, sophrology... in partnership with professionals.. Last year, we organized a sewing workshop with the pharmacy team to make heart-shaped cushions, which we donated to the Villefranche hospital and the Arnas clinic for distribution to post-operative breast cancer patients. The cushions were accompanied by a sweet note from the donor to each user. ".
With all these activities, the pharmacy is naturally involved beyond its walls in actions that make sense with its local mission. In 2021, the Bandel pharmacy is committed to the THQSE (Très haute qualité sanitaire sociale et environnementale) label.
Yoga therapy for physical and mental disorders
Mounia Moalla is a clinical and hospital pharmacist, yoga teacher and yoga therapist. Her passion for yoga dates back to 2006, and from the very first class she felt the physical and mental effects of this discipline as a matter of course. Since then, yoga has become part of her daily routine. A practice she has perfected on various courses and retreats with yoga teachers and masters, notably in India. A graduate of the Institut de YogaThérapie in Paris, directed by Dr. Lionel Coudron, she is now giving yoga its place in the health field. "It can help reduce the need to take medication, make it easier to cope with pain, or even make treatment more bearable. Yoga therapy does not replace medical treatment, but can complement it to reduce side effects, for example.
Head of the pharmacy department at Issoudun hospital until 2023, she offered her services to patients with chronic illnesses. "When a doctor felt that yoga therapy could help a patient, he would refer him to me. In 4 or 5 sessions, the patient can be relieved: " It'sa personalized follow-up. Yoga adapts to the patient, not the other way round. You can start at any age, and you don't need to be particularly flexible ".
This practice is becoming increasingly widespread in the humanitarian sector and does not require the use of medication, which is more profitable in the long term.
Mounia accompanied the American NGO Lifting Hands International to a refugee camp in northern Greece, where the majority of the inhabitants are Yezidis*. " I had to train the NGO's team in post-traumatic stress, by organizing therapeutic yoga sessions in small groups. It's a practice that's becoming more and more widespread in the humanitarian sector, and doesn't require the use of medication. ".
With the refugees, Mounia and members of the NGO organized workshops to deal with their anxieties and traumas. They proposed physical breathing and yoga exercises adapted to their physical situation, age and gender: " We had to organize the space with tents dedicated to physical exercises. We had to organize the space with tents dedicated to physical exercises, manual activities for the women... And we also had to adapt to each person's needs and reassure them, as these are people who have crossed several countries on foot, who have crossed the sea to get here ". The day before her arrival, 400 refugees were welcomed in the camp, people of all ages who had travelled thousands of kilometers.
By training NGOs, Mounia wants to highlight the issue of mental health: " We are gradually becoming aware of the psychological impact that humanitarian crises can have. In the Serres camp, some refugees have been there for over five years, so we need to offer long-term follow-up. The aim is also to make them feel something other than stress and anxiety, minutes of peace and serenity. ".
*Yezidis: Kurdish-speaking minority from southern and eastern Anatolia, Iraq, Syria and Iran. They are hunted down and massacred by Daesh jihadists.
